Galicia

The old city of Santiago has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. It stands out for being one of the three great pilgrimage centers of Christianity, along with Jerusalem and Rome,

Tradition points out that the apostle Santiago el Mayor was buried there. for the second consecutive year, the Holy Door, the one that opens only the day before the start of a Jubilee Holy Year and through which pilgrims will pass throughout 2022, will remain open while the Berenguela campaigns ring out, the tower of the clock. That two years in a row are jubilee is not usual. In a century and a half, it has only happened twice more: in 1885, when Pope Leo XIII determined that the remains found inside the cathedral (and whose location had been forgotten for three centuries) were really those of the apostle; and in 1937 and 1938, in the middle of the Civil War.
